India , the great country with golden history and promising future. Collection of 28 states and 7 union territories and 21 scheduled languages. But still it is termed as one India and i am proud to be a part of it. Even our constitution backs us for the same. A resident of any part of India is called an Indian, no matter from which ever city or state he/she belongs.All have the equal rights. but if this is so than why there are differences.
I belong to north-eastern part of India and came to Delhi in year 2009 to pursue higher studies. It was the first time i came out of my hometown and that too alone. I was very curious to see our national capital ; its busy roads ; its speedy life and fascinating culture. when i reached it all appeared exactly same what i thought but slowly i faced the reality. People used to stare us like we were from different species or to be more precise it was just like" the attention which a new animal gets in a zoo" ; here i came to know that we are CHINKIS ; and we are different people.
Here i want to raise a question that why is it so? Just because i am a bit fair in color ; i have different height and small eyes ? We get obscene comments because of our dressing sense but when other girls get obscene comments no one says that;"she is from XYZ place" but for us the name of our state is very prominent whenever we get humiliated. Don't we have the same rights as others have? If the answer is no than one needs to update oneself with constitutional rights. But on the other hand if the answer of my question is yes than we need to overcome our small thinking and should grow our heart bigger. The paradox is these things are the specialty of Indian culture and right now we are lagging in these only. We only gave the slogan of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - the world is a family ; and now we are ignoring this. ere is a huge need to explore our insights and to be a true human being instead of being a civilized animal. I am a part of this country and am like you people only. Please don't make me a stranger in my own home.
